Cancer Update...
I would like to update everyone on my cancer adventure. My last three infusions of chemotherapy were the last three weeks in December. The last two were on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. As you can imagine we celebrated the Holidays quietly at home. I was especially happy that I no longer had an annoying pic line hanging from my arm. It took me two weeks in January to start feeling normal.
This past week has been especially stressful for us. A friend of ours from Twin Falls was diagnosed with invasive pancreatic andenocarcinoma about one month after my diagnosis. We both had the Whipple Procedure and were on the same chemotherapy treatment. I attended his funeral last week.
Ardith and I were both very apprehensive when we drove yesterday to Boise for my CT Scan and followup visit with my pancreatic surgeon, William Traverso, M.D. It was great news to find that the tumor markers in my blood were down to normal and there was no sign of any recurrence of the cancer. I do have a small spot on my pancreas which could be a neuroendocrine tumor. These can be benign in many cases but I will be having further testing within the next few weeks. I have been blessed with great care . I am so thankful for your prayers and concern in my behalf. This has been a wild ride and I have been the recipient of so many blessings. Life is so great and we all need to enjoy every day we have upon this beautiful earth.
It's good to read your latest post. My family has been asking about you.
